NETLEY-LIBAU
MARSH, MANITOBA

Selkirk Bird Watchers Club and the Netley Marsh Waterfowl
Foundation
The
Selkirk Bird Watchers Club and the Netley Marsh Waterfowl
Foundation are joining together to address the pressures
facing the Netley-Libau marsh. As a result of water
regulation and the invasion of non-indigineous plant
species, such as Purple Loosestrife, the marsh is experiencing
a loss of habitat. This habitat is crucial to the southward-migrating
waterfowl that pass through this area, sometimes exceeding
populations in excess of 100,000.
